PRM's consultants have an immense amount of experience and expertise in handling a variety of accounts, from corporate concerns to third country representation and the services offered are tailor made to the client and issue concerned.

As such, no one strategy is the same and can combine any combination of the following services, all of which are aimed at facilitating an effective and positive EU public affairs and lobbying strategy.

Trade - EU, WTO

The European Union's trade policy is driven by an international desire for greater trade transparency. Without doubt, international trading revolves around two important trading blocks, the USA and the EU. It is now more important than ever to be able to pre-empt international trade disputes and trade rulings. PRM offers government and industry clients a service that ranges from EU and WTO monitoring to issue management and strategic advice based on an expert understanding of policy and process.

Single Market

Single Market legislation is one of the most powerful tools in the European Union's arsenal and the effects on business, both positive and negative, can be considerable. PRM stands head and shoulders above its competitors in its experience of high-level dialogue with the Commission, Parliament and Council and can provide analysis and strategic advice on how best to influence draft legislation.

Competition

PRM's advisers have dealt with an array of competition cases over the course of their careers. They can offer beneficial advise and insight based on years of experience with the increasingly political Merger Task Force and Competition Directorate General.

As one of the only Brussels consultancies to deal with the anti-dumping cases coming before the Commission, PRM can already claim an impressive track record in handling clients' interests in the Commission's anti-dumping procedure. Much of this work has involved representing Community user groups in negotiations with the Commission's Directorate General for Competition.

E-Commerce

Legislating for E-Commerce is of increasing importance and relevance in Brussels as the legislative frameworks are continually updated to keep pace with the technology in this area. Coming to terms with issues such as data protection and direct marketing on the internet are indicative of the complex issues dealt with by the EU. PRM can deploy experts experienced in communicating and representing clients' interests to those best placed to influence the policy and legislation.

Consumer Protection

Recent public health and food safety cases have had a devastating effect on the farming industry. The European Union's role in ensuring that rules on hygiene and food safety are fully respected is increasingly important. To this end, PRM has extensive experience in representing consumer protection cases within the EU, ensuring that the right message is communicated to the key decision-makers and in the correct manner.

Biotech & Health

PRM's directors were advisors on the biggest single successful lobbying campaign ever, in the campaign for the Biotech Patenting Directive. We are familiar with the personalities and sensitivities in communicating with a political audience in the highly charged atmosphere that biotech and health proposals have created.

Agriculture,Food & Trade

PRMs predominance in this field is represented in Lord Plumb's decades of experience not only in European politics but also as President of the National Farmers' Union and as President of COGECA. PRM also publishes a regular monitoring report in this sector, the AFT Update.

Government Representation & Support

PRM offers a comprehensive third nation support service to report on and monitor the legislative and multilateral agreements endorsed by Brussels. This service includes coverage of high-level meetings, the drafting of position papers, skilled advocacy and research. We continue to assist ACP (African, Caribbean and Pacific) governments and industry with their approaches to the European Commission and Parliament, and ensuring their positions on important issues are better understood by Brussels' decision-makers. PRM also has substantial experience in assisting governments in Eastern Europe with representation in Brussels.

Development Policy

The EU plays a significant financial and political role in international development policy as enshrined in the Amsterdam Treaty. PRM is able to offer advice and support to developing countries on how best to pursue and meet the criteria for development aid and assistance as laid down by DG Development.

Transport

The European Union has been slow to develop a comprehensive transport policy. Nevertheless, the importance of the transport sector to almost every industry and individual is irrefutable. PRM has considerable knowledge and experience in raising and tracking issues that impact the transport sector.

Tourism

Tourism is the fastest growing sector in the European Union and, in spite of the lack of a Treaty-based tourism policy, remains a key target of EU legislation and funding. PRM has been at the forefront of raising tourism issues and in encouraging dialogue between industry and the European institutions and is the recognised market leader in this field.

Funding

There are a huge number of EU funds available for a wide variety of research and development assistance related projects. However, successfully accessing these funds is far more complicated than just meeting the Commission's criteria. PRM can guide you through the maze of paperwork and procedures, giving your application a greater chance of success.
