The Lord Plumb of Coleshill, DL, LLB
Chairman

Chairman and a founder of PRM, Lord Plumb continues to have a distinguished career in British agriculture and European politics. A Conservative Member of the European Parliament from 1979 to 1999 and the only British President of the European Parliament (1987 - 1990) since direct elections were held in 1979.

Lord Plumb has also been Chairman of the European Parliament's Agriculture Committee; Chairman of the European Democratic Group; Leader of the Conservative delegation in Europe; Co-President of the EU-ACP Joint Parliamentary Assembly; and has been a full member of the Environment, Agriculture and Development committees of the European Parliament.


 
       

James Ramsay
Executive Director

James Ramsay was born in Northern Ireland and studied at the University of Kent and Strasbourg receiving an honours degree in International Relations, Government and Politics.

He has worked in both the European Commission and as an assistant in the European Parliament before specialising as a professional lobbyist.

James has long-standing experience in public affairs in Brussels and has acted as an advisor in some of the largest high-level political communications in recent years. He has been a strategist for a wide selection of interests including third-countries, the automotive industry, the petrochemical industry, the pharmaceutical industry and the tourism industry.

Dr. Robert Ramsay CMG
Senior Policy Advisor - Institutional Affairs

Robert Ramsay is PRM's Senior Policy Advisor having recently stepped down as the European Parliament's Director General for Studies and Research after a career in the British and European civil services.

After studying at Queen's University Belfast, the French ENA, Heidelberg University and receiving a PhD in Political Science from the University of Ulster, Robert has held prominent posts in the civil service: Personal Private Secretary to the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland and Chef de Cabinet to the President of the European Parliament.

Fluent in 6 European Languages, Robert has been directly involved in high-level European politics since 1983. He brings his wealth of knowledge and experience to PRM and advises on strategy as well as leading our in-house training programme.
